Saturday June 27

Finally, after an exhausting day in Pittsburgh on Friday we arrive home yesterday evening. Three hours at the doctor's office provided us little to know information on the prognosis of Karen's condition. Her doctor was "not available" so we were referred to another resident who "unpacked her nose". Imagine 4 pieces of rolled cotton 5 - 6 inches long each stuffed up her nose. No wonder she felt like her head was stuffed up. We did find out that she has splints up either side of her septum - not sure why...don't they put splints in when you break your nose? Was Karen's nose broken during surgery....of course the "resident" was little to no help answering any questions.
Our next trip back to Pittsburgh is July 7th we have 2 appointments - one with the ENT and one with the neurosurgen. Hopefully, more questions will be answered at that time. For now we are being patient - or trying to be patient and continue to pray for a postive outcome of the pathology report.
For now Dennis is cleaning and mowing the jungle we call a yard, Karen is resting - taking her drugs (did we tell you about Delores? - they are her little white happy pills, she nicknamed Delores and she likes the la la land they take her to...her "trip with Delores). She is also trying to do some laundry and prepare to leave this evening for NECC.

Feel free to comment on the blog - we check it daily and will post most days. We also have our cell phones if you need to call.

Thanks for everyone's thought and prayers...

Thanks Elaine for sharing - "Whenever I'm afraid I will trust in YOU". Psalms 56:3 These words have been a mainstay for us through this journey.

Love, Karen and Dennis

Hey Karen! Just checking in to see how you are doing and to be sure you are getting some rest in between all the other important stuff at NECC!
